Sunrise and sunset are one of the most beautiful gift from nature to a photographer. We have seen plenty of such images on the net and yet we can never get enough of it. It has and always be every photographers dream to capture images of the most amazing sunsets and sunrises. Here are a few tips to remember for budding photographers:
1. Know where the sun rises and sets in the location or the place you will be visiting. If in doubt ask a local resident. They will be glad to show you. Never assume.
2. Conduct a site survey. Know your surroundings. This will be helpful when its dark.
3. Compose your images beforehand. When it comes down to action the last thing you need is to spend time composing your shots.
4. Bring a tripod, a shutter release cable, torch light, rain coat / umbrella (just in case), insect repellents, and water :). DON'T FORGET THE TRIPOD HEAD and MOUNT. Create a checklist if you are forgetful. Pack all this in advance and put it aside before you sleep.
5. When you reach your location / destination setup your tripod before hand and take test shots. Don't wait till the last minute. You only have a moment of opportunity you want to make full use of it.
6. Use shutter release cable and mirror up mode when possible to ensure tack sharp images.
